Curveballs Revisited
I wrote an article for the November issue of Utah CEO Magazine based on my mountaineering accident back in June.
I lifted the title of my original blog post detailing the accident and called the article Curveballs: Five life lessons from a close call with an errant boulder.

What if?
I’ve had a lot of time for reflection during the last 5.5 wks. If you missed it, a lot changed in my life after my leg decided to pick a fight with a fast moving boulder on Mt Nebo.
I realized last week that a lot of that reflective time has been consumed with what I’m going to call the “What if?” game. I think it really hit me last Thursday when I had a Wilderness Rescue Reunion BBQ at my house, and we all relived that fateful day of June 13th.

Sometimes in life, in businesses, and especially in entrepreneurship, you get hit with something unexpected. Plans and decisions have been made. Actions taken and implemented. Momentum is moving you and your life and the things within your control towards a specific objective. An objective that you’re trying to reach. But then the curveball comes. A curveball that is outside of your control. And all bets are off.
