What if?

Jul 21 2009

I’ve had a lot of time for reflection during the last 5.5 wks. If you missed it, a lot changed in my life after my leg decided to pick a fight with a fast moving boulder on Mt Nebo.

I realized last week that a lot of that reflective time has been consumed with what I’m going to call the “What if?” game. I think it really hit me last Thursday when I had a Wilderness Rescue Reunion BBQ at my house, and we all relived that fateful day of June 13th.

What if that rock had bounced different and missed you? What if it’d have hit someone else? What if we’d have heard it coming and all jumped out

Why is the sky blue?

I’m going to be interviewed tomorrow for Blue Sky Factory TV at 12:00 p.m. MST. Blue Sky Factory is a leading email service provider.

DJ Waldow, their Directory of Community, will be talking with me. We’ll be talking about these things inquiring minds want to know (and more):

  • What is Doba?
  • Email Marketing
  • Experiences with this blog: Adventures in Entrepreneurship
  • Salt Lake City

It’s gotten so tiresome. I live in Utah because I want to. Because I live in Utah, I do startups in Utah.

Fred Wilson NAILS the correct thought on it so on top of the nail

Curveballs (or boulders as they may be)

Sometimes in life, in businesses, and especially in entrepreneurship, you get hit with something unexpected. Plans and decisions have been made. Actions taken and implemented. Momentum is moving you and your life and the things within your control towards a specific objective. An objective that you’re trying to reach. But then the curveball comes. A curveball that is outside of your control. And all bets are off.

Well, on Saturday June 13th, I was thrown an EPIC curveball.

But before I get to that, let me tell you about my Momentum. A group of us–me, Dallen, Liz, Michelle, Taylor, Tyler, Ruth–planned to climb Mt. Rainier from June 25-June 29. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. It’s not an easy task,
